Interviewing Tips

  • Arrive a few minutes early
  • Greet the interviewer by their last name.  If not, ask the employer to repeat it
  • Project energy and enthusiasm
  • Smile and shake hands firmly
  • Sit up right and look alert and interested at all times
  • Listen carefully and respond succinctly and articulately
  • Be sincere and truthful

Resume Tips

  • List work experience in reverse chronological order, starting with the most recent job.  Be sure to include position, location, company, and dates of employment
  • Check for grammar and punctuation, misspelled words and typo
  • Leave ample white space so resume does not look cluttered
  • Think of your resume as a marketing tool
  • Use your resume to obtain an interview, not a job.
  • Use action words, like prepared, developed, monitored, and presented.
